Folded Tamahagane Shinken (SHARP) Katana
Our forge in China had a number of overstocked and custom pieces that were not paid for by customers. We raided their storerooms to bring these pieces over at a significant discount.
This sword has an elegant blackand color scheme with a beautiful set functional iron fittngs. The saya (sheath) has a bold red real ray skin wrap on the top that adds a pop of color and black real horn accent pieces.
This blade is made with Japanese Tamahagane. Tamahagne is a traditional Japanese steel made from smelted iron sand and charcoal, which is historically used to forge samurai swords and other high-quality blades. It is known for its high carbon content, which can range from (0.6%) to (1.5%) and creates a steel with a combination of hardness and toughness. The process is so unique that it cannot be replicated with modern steelmaking, making it a precious and rare material. The steel is imported into China where it is forged using more modern techniques, making this a more affordable option to acquire a tamahagane blade.
