Our forge in China had a number of overstocked and custom pieces that were not paid for by customers. We raided their storerooms to bring these pieces over at a significant discount.
This sword has a bold red and blue color scheme with a beautiful set cherry blossom themed brass fittngs.
This blade is made with a traditional sanmai construction. Sanmai is a three-layer katana construction method where a hard steel core (hagane) is forge-welded between two pieces of softer, tougher steel (kawagane). This technique creates a blade with a very hard cutting edge that holds its sharpness, while the softer outer layers provide flexibility and shock absorption to prevent the core from shattering
